A 7 day Silent Retreat, April 3rd-10th, 2020
This all inclusive seven day silent retreat will afford you the opportunity to sink into stillness and deepen your mindfulness practice. Guided sitting, lying down and walking meditations will be offered along with body work in the form of guided gentle yoga and self directed meditative ballwork practice.
The retreat is appropriate for those with some experience in meditation and is appropriate as a first retreat. No prior yoga experience is necessary and adaptations are available for any level of fitness. The retreat takes place in beautiful NY countryside and there is outdoor space for walking practice. The silence support by the staff and fellow participants creates a sense of community, together, investigating and exploring our experience beyond the usual superficial day to day life. These 7 days afford a unique possibility of dropping into moment by moment awareness and peace.
Every evening there will be a talk as well as group and individual interviews during the 7 day retreat and tailored guidance as needed. We will begin with an opening circle the first night before we enter into silence and at the end of the retreat we will have time to share our experience and prepare for departure.
The practices offered on this retreat will center on the basics of Mindfulness, Meditation and Compassion. Incorporating the body will invite a melding of mind, body and spirit.
Please note: If this is your first silent retreat you may be unaware that there is no reading or writing on retreat so you can leave books, etc at home. We will ask you to relinquish all devices, phones, computers, iPads etc to help facilitate a retreat atmosphere. You will be provided an emergency contact number that you can leave with your family.
